What to Expect During a Pet Emergency

Mountain Graphic Underline

At TVES, we know how stressful it can be when your pet needs emergency or specialty care. Our goal is to make the process as smooth and reassuring as possible—ensuring your pet gets the urgent attention they need while keeping you informed every step of the way

Immediate Triage

The moment you arrive, your pet will be assessed by our experienced veterinary team to determine the urgency of their condition. Life-threatening emergencies are treated immediately, while stable patients are triaged based on medical need. Our team will provide you with an initial assessment and an estimated wait time.

Clear Communication

We prioritize transparency in everything we do. From the moment you walk through our doors, we’ll keep you updated on your pet’s condition, treatment options, and estimated costs. We know waiting can be difficult, so our staff will check in with you regularly to provide updates.

A Comfortable Waiting Area

While you wait, we want you to feel as comfortable as possible. Our quiet and spacious waiting area includes:

  • Filtered water and a selection of coffee beverages
  • Plenty of seating with access to electrical outlets for charging devices (don’t forget your charging cord!)
  • A Safeway located just half a block away if you need food or other essentials

We strive to make your time with us as comfortable as possible while you support your pet.

Visiting Your Pet

We understand how important it is to be with your pet, especially when they’re hospitalized. That’s why we have an open visitation policy—you’re welcome to visit your pet in the ICU and say good night. Our team will work with you to ensure visits are possible while keeping medical care a top priority.

Our Commitment to You

Emergencies can be overwhelming, but you’re not alone. Our team is here to provide expert medical care, clear communication, and compassionate support—because we believe in treating every pet like our own and every pet parent with the respect and understanding they deserve.

If you think your pet is experiencing an emergency, please call us right away. We can help assess the situation, discuss stabilization options, provide wait time estimates, and guide you on safe transport.
